My name is MJ and I have been a professional driver (trucking) for about 30 yrs and have now just retired (2013) about 6 months ago. Being a wife, mother and grandmother, running this business has been a joy “most” of the time… Having had a blog about how the business works and life out on the road including the travels, loading and unloading, bookwork, truck maintenance, tires, and spare time fun trips in between working, I will be checking in with pics and some interesting places that I didn’t get to stop and explore fully while working. Never the time or a place to park (truck and trailer) while loading and unloading……
The first part of my blog (2011-2013) is about my being a female over the road truck driver running flatbed and stepdeck trailers and driving my favorite of all vehicles, my 359 Peterbilt…………….and how my daily life was spent driving Coast to Coast and everyplace in between…….loads I hauled and where they went………I liked it all!! ……..Daddy-o came along every once in awhile when he wasn’t too busy , just for fun and he is the best mechanic in the while world!!!!……I give him all the credit!! The second part from 2013 is about my being retired and still going places!! It’s still all fun……Come on along…………..
Running all 48 states for almost 20 of those years, left me with plenty of paces to get some good shots of our beautiful country and I enjoy taking pics! Every section is unique in its culture and topography. I really do not have a favorite place to go as everyplace has its good points and bad points. Of course while trucking, I would go South in the winter mostly, if loads could get me there, and North in the summer (I don’t like hot) if possible.
We hopefully will be able to plan a few trips where its warmer in the winter and be able to get some good pics of different parts of the country. The summer is reserved for us staying in the cooler NW, fishing and camping.
Thanks to everyone that checks in……
Happy Trails!! MJ
