This morning was just as I figured, sunny out and a bunch of cumulus clouds billowing up from the South East……we made a couple of cups of coffee in our room and stepped outside to look for a quick breakfast with croissants and an extra coffee,………just down the street about 4 blocks was the Roman Baths, plus the museum and the Bath Abbey…..not knowing what time it opened, we leisurely walked toward it and happened onto one of those wonderful looking bakeries so we picked up what we wanted and sat down for a few minutes to eat our goodies…….
A little history of Bath:
The Romans built a temple here around 4th Century AD and also built the public baths which was a natural hot springs source. It was dedicated to Sul, a Celtic God and Minerva, the goddess of healing. The town of Bath was called Aquae Sulis, the waters of Sul………
Here are some pics of the exhibit……….
Coming out into the square, this mime was not letting anyone make a move on him………
Will get to the beautiful, elegant Abbey a little later……..we need a refresher!!
